The band invited guitarist Dan Bykau of Anacharsis and former Litvintroll drummer Mikalai Sharangovich to join. Musically, Sakramant preserved the Litvintroll tradition of giving the lead spot to the Belarusian bagpipe.
In December 2015, Sakramant debuted with the single Rusalka, recorded with singer Lesley Knife of Gods Tower fame. Graphic designer Devor, known for her work with Litvintroll, created the video and the single cover art. The track was an instant hit, and the band, armed with listeners’ support and favorable reviews from critics, began work on their first EP. Rusalka is now in radio rotation for an eighth consecutive month.
Vocalist Branislau Ramanovich joined Sakramant in May 2016, and the band began recording. Named Čortaŭ Skarb (“The Devil’s Treasure”), the disc comprises three stories, or three treasures, influenced, according to the musicians, by the works of famous Belarusian writer Uladzimir Karatkievich. Lesley Knife returned to provide backing vocals, and Dmitriy Auchynnikau added keyboard parts.
The EP immediately topped radio charts in Belarus. As a sign of strong appreciation from promoters and public interest, Sakramant has been invited to every major metal music festival in the country. The band is hitting the road in Europe this fall.
