Where do we go from here? | Single | 2022 |
PhenomeNow is an Israeli rock band that has been making waves in the music scene with their unique sound and thought-provoking lyrics. Their music has been described as an "electric acoustic mixed sound that corresponds with first-class rock bands - from the Beatles to Radiohead." Their style is an "excellent collection of influences" that has garnered praise from critics and fans alike for its originality and emotional impact.
Founded in 2010 by Nir Utmazgin (guitars and vocals) and Itay Oren (piano), the band quickly grew to include Avsha Ilan (bass, guitars, and vocals), Boris Rasinsky Levin (drums), and Itamar Aharonovich (lead guitar). Their debut album, To Go, was released in 2011 and was a concept album exploring themes of fear, love, chaos, and confusion.
The album received positive reviews and led to a successful two-year period of touring and promotion throughout Israel with the support of national radio stations.
The album was distributed by the South American label, Mylodon Records.
The following round in their life was quite different. They took the time to invest in the challenges of relationship and fatherhood, each one respectively building their own homes. This period of personal growth and change would later influence their music, adding a new depth and maturity to their sound.
The band reunited in 2018 with a renewed perspective and a desire to address social issues. Their EP, ARE YOU?, released in 2020, explored themes of fear, cruelty, and alienation in a world that is increasingly divided. The EP's release coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, adding an unexpected layer of relevance to its message.
During the pandemic, the band continued to write and produce new music despite being geographically separated. Avsha Ilan's relocation to Berlin led to a unique collaborative process, with music files crossing the web between Israel and Germany.
In 2022, they released three new original songs distributed by the British label Revolver Records and returned to live performances.
For PhenomeNow, the visual aspect of their music is just as important as the sound. They collaborate with video artists, animators, and graphic designers to create a complete artistic experience. From single covers to music videos, every element is carefully crafted to enhance the band's message.
Currently, PhenomeNow is in the final stages of recording six new songs, scheduled for release in the first half of 2024. They actively engage with their fans through social media, sharing content and maintaining a strong online community.
In addition to their musical pursuits, PhenomeNow is deeply committed to social responsibility. During the recent war in Israel, they volunteered to bring the healing power of music to those in need, demonstrating their dedication to using their platform for positive change.
