Antibes 1974, concert by Muddy Waters.

To the Master's left, a young white man blew an enormous sound from this small instrument. The Blues fell on René Perrier, by Jimmy Reed with the rhythmic drive of Eddie Taylor. Back to Antibes: when the catharsis into which the Old Man plunged you each time he sat on his stool and sent this apocalypse of velvet through the brain, he realized that we could talk with these people. It was on this day that his friendship with Muddy was born. The harmonica player to the father's left was Jerry Portnoy. So over the years, Jerry will become his mentor, René Perrier formed the Flying Saucers with Jean Louis Azard guitar and Charles Malnuit drums . During these years René played as a guest with blues legends like Junior Wells & Buddy Guy, Eddie "The Chief" Clearwater, Mojo Buford, Mickey Baker, Melvin Taylor, Pinetop Perkins, toured with the Legendary Blues Band, ex Muddy Waters Blues Band . René decided to mount this somewhat bizarre concept: vocals, harmonica, guitar, drums, which existed for a time in Chicago, when the electric blues was born, but not the bass guitar! The partners, it was all found: that's how Charlie and Jean Louis, who had never met, met in the studio, to record their first album BLUE PETUNIA, followed by the album BEAT IT OUT then that of the tribute to BIG WALTER. The 4th "FRIENDS" has just been completed and will be released at the end of June. Lou Lombardini
