This is where you´ll find the electro-pop duo Pasemaker, consisting of Esben T. Andersen and Anne Gudrun Michaelsen. The members of the duo are brought up and spent most of their lives in this unique northern town. Influenced by the wild nature and Nordic surroundings the duo is capturing the meaning of their name in their music.
“Pasemaker means so many different things, but most of all for us it is something that allows you to do anything you set your mind to, no matter what other people say. If you dream of something don’t let anything get in your way” – Pasemaker
As their genre is hinting too the music is full of energy and rhythm. Pasemaker is always achieving to be innovative, and not afraid of change. The duo is creating music that blends commercial pop with a dark electronic universe. “Our goal for every concert is to inspire and give the audience a different experience and new fresh energy. We want to connect and feel the audience pulse”
The reason behind the name is just as important as the people behind it. The different challenges both Anne and Esben have had throughout their lives have shaped them as the people they now are. Esben was born with a severe heart disease as a child and because of this he has experienced many surgeries. As an adult, Esben also got a pacemaker to help his heart run more fluidly. “I believe that we are all born with a certain degree of power to face challenges in life. The real key to success is to find this innate power and using it to daily to deal with whatever challenges coming your way. For me this innate power is my heart disease. I don’t look at it as a weakness, but as strength and a reason for following my dream.”
One the other hand Anne´s has been struggling with physiological battles, since she was bullied from the age 8 till 17. “ I guess it is quite a normal thing to go through and get bullied. I was never a group person, I was always the individual that spoke my mind and I guess that put you in different kind of situations, but in some ways I´m glad I had some battles because it helped me becoming more aware of who I am and who I want to be ”
