Oddjob releases folk album incorporating herding calls

One of Sweden's leading jazz bands, Oddjob, have stepped into Musikverkets voluminous archives and made a plunge into Swedish folk music. They found the recordings of herding calls from Swedish pastures made between 1948 and 1964 which they then sampled and incorporated in the Oddjob sound.

The new album, Folk, is to be released on October 16 and will be followed by a release tour that will commence at P2 Jazzkatten on October 13.
