The debut is a journey through a colourful universe of playful sounds, profound words, diverse instruments and a wide variety of stories. It‘s a trip that goes through all your bones, makes you dance, invites you to dream and, last but not least, asks questions about the world and its inhabitants.

VIOLET is the product of two people who have taken the magic of improvisation to the extreme. Bill B and Mel D ceated sketches and soundpaintings, replayed, relived, reinterpreted their musical ideas everytime they went on stage or played together in the Bandroom. After the bands first year with around 60 concerts they‘ve decided to finally ceate an album. You read it right. mischgewebe spent about a year playing and improvising their music before going into the studio. At every concert, every band rehearsal, every time they made music together. they reinventing the songs. They were always covering more musical aspects, trying things out, escalating, but most of all letting go and following natural musical intuition. Over time, certain patterns had formed, lyrical themes had taken hold, so the foundation for the first joint recording was created. For the studio recordings, the two went with producer Simon Jäger to a well-isolated mountain hut in Graubünden (Switzerland) to further process the already internalised sound sketches into finished songs. Complex lyrical contents were embedded in sonic elements, sprawling beats were adorned with vocal choirs, and finally an album was finished that can be listened to from beginning to end without interruption. VIOLET is a 46.37 minute journey through socio-critical content, heartbroken love songs, and dream worlds. The album title VIOLET (German: Veilchen) symbolises the approach as well as the future wishes of the band. mischgewebe is a constantly growing flower that spreads, multiplies, changes and above all enchants the viewers / listeners.

A fabric with fibres of synth pads, guitar melodies, driving bass and an expressive voice that makes arm hairs stand up; They mix drone, trip-hop and dream pop into a musical potpourri on which elements of electronic dance music lay like glitter on sweaty temples.
