Quaintrelle | Album | 2009 |
It marks her first new release in a decade since her debut folk/swing/rock album "Quaintrelle". Lenny's new sound is straight to the point with its rock energy; "It's like Blondie meets The Runaways, with a teeny bit of The Cranberries thrown in. It's got such a girl-power angst vibe!"
Hailing from Bristol, UK, singer-songwriter Lenny Savage, launched onto the music scene at a young age. By 13 years old she was performing regularly at gigs and festivals with an emphasis on folk music. Tipped for big things, she signed a record contract at the age of 17, who she released two singles with. After breaking away from the label, at the age of 20 she released her independent album "Quaintrelle".
Lenny continued to play live gigs over the years but started to find it difficult as many live venues began to close and less and less people were going out to watch live music in Bristol.
Fast forward to 2020, Lenny wanted to express the mounting frustration of the COVID-19 lock down and started to work on the "Warpaint" single. She collaborated with Aaron Sayers of Track 21 Touring to help her produce it.
"Warpaint is exactly the Rock Anthem I have always wanted to release. It's heavy, catchy, fun and has a face melting solo that any 80s hair band would be proud of. It's all about preparing yourself for a night out, revving yourself for some drama and proving to yourself you're not just a name tag working a 9-5. It's the perfect post lockdown anthem."
