Long before British metal legends Iron Maiden picked up on the concept, a pack of Huntington Beach, CA-based teenagers, collectively known as LEATHERWOLF, pioneered and perfected the heavy metal Triple Axe Attack while sharing the stage with Orange County contemporaries such as Slayer and Metallica early on.

Their eponymous 1984 debut EP, expanded to a full-length LP, entitled ‘Endangered Species’ for international release, and a pair of stunning albums for Island Records, ‘Leatherwolf’ ('87) and ‘Street Ready’ ('89), which yielded the MTV videos ‘The Calling’ and ‘Hideaway’, respectively, saw the band flying the flag for decidedly European influenced metal amidst a sea of formulaic L.A. contemporaries.

After a self-imposed break during the grunge and alt rock craze, the band’s classic line-up resurfaced in 1999 with a storming live album, ‘Wide Open’, underscoring LEATHERWOLF’s enduring appeal among metal enthusiasts. The band also made a triumphant return to Europe by special invitation with a one-off gig at the prestigious Wacken Festival in Germany.

In 2006, LEATHERWOLF emerged with a revamped line-up to once again turn the metal world on its ear with the well received ‘World Asylum’, the band’s heaviest effort to date, mixed by Danish studio whiz Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Primal Fear, Pretty Maids).

Since then the band has toured regularly and appeared at various high profile events on both sides of the Atlantic, including Bang Your Head!!!, Rocklahoma, ProgPower, Keep It True, the Monsters of Rock cruise, and the Rock Hard Festival, the latter broadcast live on national TV by Germany’s WDR television. “Well, I knew they’d be good, but I didn’t think they’d be THAT good”, enthused legendary UK scribe Dave Ling after catching LEATHERWOLF's 2017 London show.

Having survived line-up shake-ups and the Corona pandemic unscathed, LEATHERWOLF are about to unleash their long awaited fifth studio album in 2022, mixed by Randy Burns (Megadeth, Kreator, Helstar), who also manned the boards for the band's debut EP, and mastered by Tom Baker (Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe, Pantera).

Featuring new vocalist Keith Adamiak alongside guitarists Rob Math and Luke Man, veteran bassist, Barry Sparks (MSG, Dokken), and drummer Dean Roberts, songs such as ‘Hit the Dirt', 'Only the Wicked’, ‘(Evil) Empires Fall’, and ‘The Henchman’ feature all the familiar lupine trademarks fans have come to love, fusing virtuoso musicianship, world class songwriting, jaw dropping guitar interplay and anthemic choruses – proof positive that LEATHERWOLF continue to be one of the premier purveyors of American metal four decades into their career.

LEATHERWOLF is:
Keith Adamiak – lead vocals
Rob Math – guitars
Luke Man – guitars
Wayne Findlay - guitar/keyboards
Barry Sparks – bass
Dean Roberts – drums
