The band started as a Jazz project motivated by free jazz of the 1950s and 60s; influenced by musicians such as Cecil Taylor, Eric Dolphy, Archie Shepp and Ornette Coleman.
However since its creation we have drawn inspiration from the likes of Peter Brotzmann, Olivier Messiaen, John Zorn, Pierre Boulez and Frank Zappa and as a result have included elements of Punk, Blues, Math, Serialism and Chance Music.
The only way forward for Leather Cow is to continue to create new music that both stretches their ability as performers whilst challenging our Nev.
