Barcelona was a bubbling of half-caste bands a few years ago in which the merger of styles that took as a base the paces born under the umbrella of the rumba was the leitmotiv of the whole multicultural and rooted out generation. Many bands arose from that movement (Ojos de Brujo, Muchachito, etc.) but few ones those who have survived with dignity and - overcoat - looking for an evolution in his sound that was separating them of the initial snap that supposed that mode. LaRumbé was one of the groups of reference of that movement, and though it was not of the bands most known, it was very respected by all his contemporaries, thanks to his more alternative position and to the direct scorching one that led them to touching for a lots of places, so inside like outside our borders. In addition, his disc of début, " A Lo Fratelo ", did not slip by for public and critique that always pleased this work as one of the indispensable ones to understand what was happening musically in Barcelona five years ago.
At the end of the year 2011 and beginning of 2012, the project led by Juaco Molins presents the most ambitious work of the group up to the date: " Mirando Pa Taubaté ". A simple disc in his composition but very mature as for his concept. A disc a temporal but - again - the capital to understand the evolution of this half-caste, laconic sound and rabble that in his beginnings to the sound of the air of rumba “ventilador”marked by the Spanish guitars and that now rockery notably, so that, without losing his spontaneity and naturalness, it is refined but, simultaneously, one compromises furthermore if it fits, thanks to a few texts that, With a qualitative jump in quality with regard to the previous disc of study, they spit flat and real feelings in that, it is based on direct denunciations or cynical parallelisms manage to conquer the public of a way in the one that few bands - is of the style that is - they would achieve it. No doubt, the fantastic producers Tino Di Geraldo and Guillermo Quero have contributed notably in supporting this stylistic draft with a tremendously current worn out sound on an excellent collection of songs.
LaRumbé continues being a public inspector to his speech and is that, up to in his name rumba is breathed, but thanks to his sonic evolution they manage to conquer major hearings, without the current ones lose, refining a music increasingly rock but simultaneously with letters furthermore direct, which allows them to be crowned as the surviving only one of the half-caste rumba of Barcelona that has could transform his speech, consolidate and be a new modal of the style in our country.
