At that time, the band existed informally - Ilija Zipevski, the author of music and lyrics, performed songs on guitar accompanied by his friends (backing vocals, accordion, guitar, percussion) at home gatherings/parties or in the underground passages of Belgrade as street musicians. The whole idea of the "Krilat i beo" project emerged from the experience of street performance - a band that plays acoustically on the street but performs their original songs.
The band began active work in the summer of 2016. It is a semi-acoustic lineup that at one point counted nine members, then seven, and finally five. In addition to acoustic guitars and vocals, the lineup also includes violin, accordion, keyboard, bass guitar, percussion, and cajon. Over the next three years, the band had both concert and studio activity, resulting in the release of three singles: "Organska potreba" (2017), "Budi vesela" and "Jesen" (2019). By the summer of 2019, there was a transformation in the sound and lineup of the band. The semi-acoustic lineup was replaced by an electric rock lineup, and the pop folk sound of street performance was replaced by an atmospheric and harder sound of electric guitar, drums, and synths. During the period of searching for a new lineup, the band performed in smaller clubs as a duo or trio.
With a new sound and lineup, the band began recording their first album in the summer of 2021 at the Down There studio with Uroš Milkić. In the spring of 2022, the single "Moj grad" was released, and in the winter of 2023, the single "Život nema kraj" was released. Both singles will be included on the upcoming album titled "Dalekovodi," set to be released in the fall of 2024 by Geenger records. This year, the band has performances scheduled on Rock Radio, Radioaparat, and the show "Bunt" on Radio Televison of Serbia.
