Katja von Bauske is a German singer-songwriter and musicologist. Her musical influences include Joni Mitchell, Alin Coen, Philipp Poisel, The Corrs and broad genres from classic, ambient, world, folk and spiritual music. Her genre can be described as Soulfeeding Acoustic Pop. Her early stage experiences started in Los Angeles when she was picked up while walking on the street. Since then she has performed in the German Language on streets and stages of New York, Seoul, Shanghai, San Francisco and other worldwide metropolises. One of her most popular subjects for interviews was a coincidental encounter with a street music band in Seoul/South Korea which led to her first German-language album. She recorded 8 Songs in 8 different places, in 7 countries, on 3 continents, with a total of 33 local musicians. For one of her songs, she was able to win Oscar winner Markéta Irglóva (Once, Glen Hansard) as a feature. Together with London producer John Haywood (for David Garrett, among others), she has realized three music albums. Her third album "Project New Earth", funded by Initiative Musik, was created in collaboration with an Icelandic studio (Masterkey).
Along with her passion for music, her thirst for knowledge and experience led her steadily into training and further education so that she can look back on a wide range of experiences as a physiotherapist and flight attendant. She has completed vocal training, studies for music therapy and studies for musicology (B.A. of arts) and is currently writing her master thesis on cross-cultural creativity and works as a vocal coach.
