Following a trickle of warmly received demo teasers throughout 2014, eventually winning the affection of Paris’ Animal Records, the “Kanzi” EP is the result of a year’s careful work and rework from the four-piece. The four tracks combine warm synthesizers and organic drum sounds and samples with heartfelt vocal melodies blending a spectrum of musical influences from Radiohead to Burial. The resulting recordings, shaped in Kanzi’s home studio, use spaces, warm textures and subtle rhythmic inflections to carry the fragile falsetto.
