Josh was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, UK and was raised in Ashgate, a suburb of the town. He is the son of Sarah, a former Harrods emplyee, and Andrew Miles, the head of service management for Royal Mail. His father is of Welsh descent (from a family from Neath) however his father spent most of his upbringing in South Africa, while his mother is English (from Midhurst).
