Jack McAllister Short Info

Jack McAllister is a 22 year old singer songwriter from Liverpool. Since the curtains closed for his previous band Watchtower in May 2015, Jack took a year away from music but has now returned to the scene with an acoustic guitar and brand new set of songs under his belt. Due to be signed to a local management label, this thriving young musician has already stormed through the acoustic community and captured the attention from the likes of Ian Prowse with his catchy
melodies and a balance of smooth yet gritty vocals. Jack can be identified with his mop-top and sixties attire, this salute to the British invasion has become pretty common in his home town, but he makes it his own. During the band's long road to ruin, Jack wrote his first song as a solo artist, but was released under the band's name. 'You Don't Have To Say Goodbye', received radio play from across the globe and landed at number four in the iTunes, Google and Amazon blues chart. This showed Jack that when this band should come to an end that he would be better off alone.
His debut single, 'Do You Want It?' which was released last October has already had numerous amounts of radio play, reviews and interviews, which shows its potential to go far. This protest song fights alongside the beliefs of the local musician's beloved music venue, the Lomax, should not be closed. Artist blogger Nessi Holt from Carpe Carmina had this to say about the track. “Fuzzy and fiercely howling guitar reverb salutes the listener, vigorous and rhythmically ringing drum beats are on the march while raucously rousing vocal sonority joins in and supports the song's strongly clangorous conceptual commotion dashing aggression, a tense atmosphere and perky authenticity align, a boisterous instrumental revolt takes shape. With it, Jack McAllister raises his voice in a firm and fervent fashion not only to make a mark musically but also to make a point about Liverpool's iconic music venue, Lomax. Bravo!”

During his growing years as a songwriter and musician, Jack gave all various kinds of music the same attention and appreciation, from the early blues all the way to the modern rock/pop. Once he stepped into the sixties era, he took an unhealthy obsession and became mostly influenced by the experimentation, production and formulas used within that decade. Now he is confident his style will cover more genres than anyone has in a single career. As a certified audio engineer, Jack uses his skills into producing his own music and others. One of his productions were featured on 'This Morning' as part of the unsigned music segment. Jack hopes to reach out to a larger audience than others by writing his music in different genres and styles, therefore not being pushed into a corner, but instead exploring the various roots of generations of music and emulating them. Jack could open up a new way of song-writing with a message that's simple, that you shouldn't be identified with a genre but leave the audience curious about which direction you will turn next.

Fast forwarding to now, Jack has been officially back on the scene since May and has so far played some of the city's most popular venues, including the Cavern Club for the IPO festival. The founder Dave Bash had this to say about Jack's return; “Picking up right where he left off with Watchtower, who wowed us with their incendiary juggernaut of psychedelic power at their final show ever at last year's IPO festival. Their lead singer/guitarist is back to kick off his solo career at IPO after a year away from music! His solo music retains a healthy dose of psychedelia, liberally mixed with power pop, glam and folk pop, and really allows his gift for melody to shine through.” Jack is continuing to build his set with new material and is currently in his studio working on a new single for free download, as a thank you for his fans patience during his year break. Later in the year, Jack plans to go back into his studio to work on his debut EP and will due to be released in 2017. In the mean time, his name will grow not only in his home town but across the country, he has no plans of slowing down.
