His sets are based on plain, repetitive rhythms, but that’s not everything - he’s always ready to use a wide range of subtle sounds and techniques that make his music heavy-layered and unique. You can never fully obtain all of the components at just one listen.
HRTL’s shows are 100% analogue, and also totally improvized: he interacts with the public and creates music that will suit the moment perfectly. It can end up with ambient and eerily nervous atmosphere, but also exhaustingly wild dance party.
On the records, the sets are claustrophobic, dark and dismantled, evoking the best of post-witchhouse.
Maybe this is the time to develop a brand new genre. HRTL does not fit into any of the existing ones.
HRTL is now studying FAVU (and has studied at Pécsi tudományegyetem under the wings of sound-artist Balázs Kovács in Pécs, Hungary), and also works on new material. Rest assured that there is a lot to be excited about.
