I did a load of festivals this summer and stumbled across the good, the bad and the rubbish.

One band i did see however were truly wonderful. I was at Festival No.6 and was getting ready to see Grumbling Fur – for some reason i was early, don’t ask me why as i don’t really know myself… Anyway i walked into what looked like a town hall and came across a bunch of young things tearing it up. All i really remember to be honest was a stick like singer screaming into a microphone and a girl playing the keyboards like it was both the first and last time she would ever do such a thing. I asked around and found out the band were called Hot Vestry…Is that a good name? Who cares…"

"Four teenagers deadly intent on showing up British indie-pop’s recent complacency. The band marry big pop hooks with esoteric flourishes, juddering rhythms and an impressive questing spirit with their their genre-straddling experimental pop".
