Since 2011, Hitman have been unleashing their unique brand of whiskey rock assault across Eastern Canada and beyond, from pubs to festivals. With 2 EPs under their bullet belts and new music in the cauldron, Hitman is poised to continue proving why they are one of Canada’s best up and coming acts.
Dubbed Live 105 fm's Road to Warped Tour winner in June 2016, the band received the grand prize of an all expenses paid performance at Vans Warped tour in Darien lake, New York, USA on July 14 2016 with bands such as Sum 41, New found Glory, Yellowcard etc.
Hitman has performed more than 250 shows since 2011 in markets such as NS, NB, NL, PEI, ON, QC and NY, USA, playing with many notable acts such as Silverstein, Metalian, Zaum, Skull Fist, The Agonist, Black Wizard, Diemonds, Black Moor, Chaos Theory, Killmore, Orchid's Curse and more.
Performing the first Maritime Metal and Hard Rock Fest in 2013, they followed it up the next year by headlining the festival which included an improv jam with John Dunsworth of the Trailer Park Boys and then returned to headline the festival in 2016.
Last fall the 1988 Chevy dream van broke down just an hour from St. John's NL after 3 nights performing at CBTG'S on George Street. Hitman having made only enough money to get the boat home to the mainland, a new engine and repairs totaling nearly $3000. The band went to gofundme.com and raised $2100 in less than 24 hours. A group of local bands in Halifax raised over $400 at The Seahorse Tavern to help the cause. CBC radio St. John's met with Hitman to talk about the shows over the weekend and getting stuck on the rock. The amazing hospitality from the people of St. Johns made the boys feel right at home.
Hitman have currently been recording their first full length album at Coda pop Studios in Halifax which is being produced by Black Moor bassist and long time friend Brycen Gunn. You can expect the first single, music video and a tour of the Atlantic provinces & Quebec in early summer 2017 followed by the release of the full album in early fall 2017 with shows in Quebec, Ontario and of course the Maritime provinces.
