So you like your none-more-Mancunian sweeping major to minor chords, great bursting choruses like the sun cracking through the clouds and tunes that etch into your head on first hearing… but you wish it wasn’t always so blokey?

Hannah have been wandering the fringes of the local scene for some time now making little impression, but here they’ve managed to craft their low-key pleasantness into something really rather lovely. Hayley Pryke’s voice has a purity and clarity to it that’s refreshingly free from either the simpery-girly or angry-shouty stereotypes that so many female singers still seem to feel they must conform to, and acoustic guitars in the verses give way to swathes of almost Interpol-ish delay just in time
