Her productions blend vocals, jazz piano, instrumental and electronic improvisations, songs and field recordings.
Half-pop and half-experimental, her style is ranging from hyperpop to ambient, while drawing on influences from jazz fusion, minimalist and classical. Ginkgökoko's sound reminds of Björk, Radiohead and James Blake, Floating Points and Flying Lotus.
Inspired by music therapy, ecology and her Vietnamese roots, Ginkgökoko navigates between healing and electronic music, imbued with a fascination for slowness and fluidity, a duality between beauty and chaos, and an obsession with the vegetal world.
In her compositions, sound fragments of insect and bird songs meet impressionistic harmonies and transformed voices, sculpted rhythms and poetic texts, at once filled with violent melancholy and serene sweetness.
Ginkgökoko's live performances feature vocal and piano improvisation from her jazz practice, live-looping and masterful manipulation of sophisticated digital effects, in an immersive audiovisual scene.
