|Fête de la Musique
we have had gigs opening up for Pete Doherty and Dodgy.
Florida Room are based in Clapton, London. Using their combined musical roots with their recent influences such as The National, Local Natives, Elbow and Grizzly Bear, they’ve harnessed the solid foundations to their songwriting. Focusing on melodies, guitars and layered harmonies, the quartet encompass each of these influences to create a hungry yet accomplished sound, both in their recordings and live performances.
With the release of the band’s first EP ‘After The Autumn Hours’ in 2012 and recently supporting artists such as Pete Doherty and Dodgy, Florida Room’s string of live sets have been described as ‘seeing them progress to the purer passion of musicians who love what they’re doing, with each song making the listener crave the next.’ They drive to push melodies forward yet also strive to experiment and charter new personal musical territory, always attempting to produce something more musical and ambitious.
