Erotic Market's music has a very personal and kaleidoscopic sound and will fit any line up : electro, hip hop, pop or even rock. They've shared the stage with very different artists such as Woodkid, Alt-J, Birdy Nam Nam, Naïve New Beaters, Jeremiah Jae, Jon Hopkins, BRNS... In prestigious venues/festivals such as The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City, Printemps de Bourges, Les Nuits Sonores, Le Nouveau Casino (Paris)...
Erotic Market is a white neon light in the dark. At first, the eye is aggressively drawn in; then it gets used to the luminous imprint, which is so powerful that, even with eyes closed, it’s the only thing that can be seen. Erotic Market is fluorescent, saturated, dynamic and clashing. It’s as greasy and unsubtle as a tray of fish and chips.
As former N’Relax talent scouts, Marine Pellegrini and Lucas Garnier laid the foundations for Erotic Market in the summer of 2011. A new musical project as striking as it is intangible, Erotic Market bridges the gap between disparate genres, weaving between coldwave, R&B, electronica and trip-hop relics, leading us astray in a maze of deliciously blended pop.
Grasping Erotic Market music is like that strange, penetrating dream of unknown music which is, each time, neither quite the same one nor a different one. It’s like saying again that beauty is always strange and is the magnificent essence of genuineness. It’s the odd, elusive feeling of remembering those tunes without knowing them at all, recognizing the vigorous rock garage music, the bright triturations of electro, the groove of hiphop...
A magic mix free from taboos and stereotypes, where the carnal essence of a voice competes with the rough attitudes of drums and keyboards and where sweetness collides with a terrifying bass. In here, no borrowing from anything or anyone.
The great strength of Erotic Market lies with fostering a true, free, exuberant personality of its own.
