Ken Dolman is a song writer, stage singer, guitarist, father, husband, artist.

“I was born in the hot summer of 1969. It was a couple of weeks after the first moon landing and a week before the start of the first Woodstock Festival. So naturally I was forced to choose: become an Astronaut, or become a musician? I chose to become an Astronaut. Now I play music.”, Ken said.

Its fall 2014. He walks with his dog, Tucker, through Kreuzberg, Berlin. Where he quietly notes the evolving street art scene. He envisions creations donning the walls. Berlin, where he is inspired by the people and places and visions he encounters. Berlin has adopted Ken, and usually just calls him Dolman. Before the move to Germany, his last 7 years were in a small town in the Teton Mountain Range of Wyoming. Time far away from the city and re-entry into the city makes him more aware of the day and age and his place in it.

“I’m trying to leave behind a snapshot of life on Earth in this day and age.” ,says Ken one day while trying to write lyrics.

Dolman draws from his long life: from the suburbs of New York to the Rocky Mountains of the American West to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to the beaches and bar rooms of Los Angeles, to the seclusion of Wyoming . He has seen the evolution of modern time into a digital age. He has witnessed naivety become wisdom. He knows there is something that needs to be said. Something that provides depth, and authenticity to the world.

A world that for one person could be of utter confusion steeped in the color of black. For another the world is one of hope and fascination steeped in colors of exuberance like Yellows, Light blue, hues of Purples, and Red.
Take this from the Stoics: From the philosophy that each day is in itself a gift , and wherein situations can always be found to have a silver lining.

“Lets say a man loses his sight. He is grateful to have had sight, but now accepts his reality and sees the loss of sight as a benefit to his sense of smell, and hearing.”

A resignation of desire leads to contentment. To marvel at the small miracles of everyday life.

This is what he writes songs about and records them. Now he has a 12 song album titled Lucky’s
