Dolly Mavies is a Soul/Folk singer-songwriter.

Dolly released her first EP ‘Behind Closed Eyes’ in December 2015. Dolly’s song The Rain was announced as a Finalist in the Folk category of the John Lennon International Songwriting Competition 2016.

With Welsh roots and soulful sounds, Dolly combines folk, soul and acoustic guitar to create an emotive and poetic soundscape. With haunting vocals and soft dulcet tones Dolly is an artist you need to hear LIVE!

Since Dolly’s release in 2015 she has continued gigging, writing, and has played at the O2 Academy in Oxford as part of BBC Introducing, The Half Moon in Putney, Hootanannys in Brixton, The Hard Rock Café in London, The Jericho Tavern Oxford, The Bullingdon Oxford, The Tin at The Coal Vaults in Coventry, Porters in Cardiff, Pyramid in Leeds, Rescue Rooms in Nottingham, and has played live on BBC Radio Oxford, BBC Radio Coventry and Warwickshire as well as performing on That's Oxfordshire TV, Bay TV Swansea, Made in Cardiff TV and Made in Bristol TV.

Dolly has spent the summer playing at Common People Festival Oxford, Cornbury Festival and Riverside Festival in Oxfordshire as well as Jimmy's Festival in Suffolk, Brecon Fringe Fest in Wales and Umbrella Fair in Northampton.

Dolly is currently writing and recording for a new release in the Autumn 2017. In addition to writing for her solo release, Dolly has been collaborating with the Banbury based 3 piece Zurich, writing a new single.

2016 saw Dolly reach the Semi-Final of the Meet and Jam Singer/Songwriter competition in association with Island records, as well as reaching the Semi Final in the Be Somebody competition for The Indie Label, she also released her debut music video for The Rain and headlined her first tour in South Wales. Dolly has supported Zurich, Coasts, Little Comets, Passport to Stockholm, Tom Pointer, Sonia Stein, Vesperteen, and Harry Pane.

Dolly’s influences include: Patti Smith, The Spice Girls, Joni Mitchell, The Civil Wars and The National.
