In the beginning Reason and Matt Shilk combined their musical attributes and knowledge to form a duo know as ‘Dishy Tangent’ in 2012.

Along the way Dishy has collaborated with a number of artists using a vibrant mix of midi, vocal harmonies, rapping and live instruments. This created a truly unique condition to allow for the formation of some fantastic genre-busting musical masterpieces. The duo evolved when Matt moved on, and Reason continued the project solo. In 2014 Sustainard and Reason began writing for another RSN Studios Act “The Outfit” which includes punk music legend and The Cockney Rejects frontman Jeff Turner.

Through working with Reason, Sustainard discovered the Dishy sound and instantly joined on guitar duties. In 2015 Sonic and Dr. Dish joined on bass and drums to complete the current line-up. It wasn’t until 2018 that they were joined by the 5th and latest member Young Blud, who plays keys to assist Reason while he works the stage. Dishy Tangent have since mastered taking the sound from the studio to the live stage, with performances booked around the UK to spread the infectious sound.

The band have supported music legends The Darkness, UB40 (Ali, Astro and Mickey), The Beat, The Egg and Space and worked with music promoters: Flat50 Records, E13 Music, AbsentKelly, Twisted Melon Promotions and Trinifold Management with live performances at:

The Hope Festival, The Dereham Carnival, Dark Horse Fest (Isle of Man), Time 107.5 FM, Phoenix FM, KLFM, Festival Too 2018, The Cornbury Music Festival, VW Whitenoise Festival 2018, Cardiff Motorpoint Arena and The O2 London Arena.

2019 saw the band make their debut on national television, by making 3 appearances on Channel 4 and Dice Recordings’ The Big Narstie Show alongside Laville, Mundu and Donae’o.

2020 was a year unlike any other with performances rescheduled across the globe from March, the band had to find a new way of reaching their audience. This gave rise to the Dishy Tangent Lockdown sessions and expanded to the band performing live at a Socially Distanced Music Festival in Norfolk. The band appeared for one last performance during 2020 at The Downham Market Club, which was where the band began their journey and association with Twisted Melon Promotions and Battle Of The Bands in 2018.

The band also released their first fully animated video for the song Getting By, which joined Better Than Me as standout releases completed during lockdown.

2021 saw DT ready to go with all new music, videos, interviews, merchandise and much more. The first release of 2021 was Clear which will appear on the next studio album from the band due for release in 2022. Recorded and mixed during lockdown, the new song tackles the complex issue of relationships set to a high energy backdrop and an ear catching chorus.

This was followed by the release of the single Timeless Music, which has been a long standing fan favourite. Reason takes the listener on the journey the band have taken up to this point, listen out for some clever name checks to some people who you may recognise!

Fast forward a few months and we’re getting ready to say goodbye to 2021…but we’re not done yet! As a special thanks to our fans we released our track, No One Knows. This was our first collaboration track with MostWanted2 DJ’s KJ and Waney G from FLEX FM. We had a ton of fun filming the official music video that you can stream on youtube. Since then we have working and breaking new ground in live music and DJ collaboration both live and online. We’ll be appearing in more places than before in 2022 AND a new album will be making it’s way to all digital stores before the summer.

Thanks for reading and see you at a live show soon.
