The band's name evokes both our hyper-connected world and a certain absurdity, critisizing our modern society.

The project came to life in 2017 on the Reflektor stage following the 1ères Scènes contest and the coaching by Michaël Larivière.

After two consecutive years abroad, the band decided to release their debut album "Soul banger", a reference to the bear banger, a noisy device designed to warn bears of man's presence. Here, it's souls that need to be warned, with Digital Donkeys bringing a message of awakening to the humanity asleep to its own complacency and the certainty that nothing can happen to them, no matter how much they screw up.

This message is transmitted through lively Electro Rock, dynamic US Rap-tinged verses and Pop Gimmick choruses. François Becquart captures it perfectly in his review of the album on Music In Belgium: « Digital Donkeys skilfully handles serious themes and danceable rhythms, as if inviting us to party on a volcano. »

After developing their universe and their stage act in residencies, Digital Donkeys kicked off their "Soul Banger" tour on the stage of the Centre Culturel de Chênée
at the end of 2022. They have been working on the release of their new EP mid-2024 since then, together with the preparation of a live show with a drummer !
