With his band, The Decadent West they create music that is unapologetic, direct and with a message of humanity. Declan and the band have been pulling together their alternative punk sound and making a mark on the Scottish music industry. In the past year the band have played the T Break stage at T in the Park, London Fashion Week and performed with an orchestra of refugee children at a festival in Palestine whilst on a cultural exchange.

This year Declan Welsh & the Decadent West played at various festivals across the country including Kendal Calling & Electric Fields providing triumphant sets to the festival audiences as well as showcasing at Wide Days & Tenement Trail securing praise from industry individuals. As a result of these shows Declan Welsh & the Decadent West have been offered The Great Escape and Stag & Dagger in 2018.

Declan Welsh & the Decadent West have received continued support from press such as The Skinny, Clash Magazine, Louder Than War & BBC Introducing. Earlier in the year the band made it on to this years Glastonbury Emerging Talent Longlist, making it to the final 120 out of thousands of applicants.

The band continue to grow both live and in recording. Having sold out both Stereo and King Tut's in the past year Declan Welsh & the Decadent West are now taking time in the studio working on recording their debut album.
