The band underwent several lineup changes, recorded 2 demos and toured Spain extensively before releasing their first official record: the Avanza EP (2012) which put them on the map and started to create a buzz as a promising act in the scene as they shared the stage with international acts such as Karma To Burn (USA), Pendejo (Holland), Deville (Sweden), Taura (Argentina) or Been Obscene (Austria).

2013 - Recording of the Debut Album

The band enters Conladiva Studios (Madrid) to record their first LP , entitled Hacia El Sol (Spanish for Towards the Sun) produced by Christophe R. Moure, Manuel Cabezalí (Havalina) along with the band, which was now complete by José Luis Serzo on the drums and Javier Schoendorff (ex-Miguel Ríos band) on bass.

2014 - Hacia El Sol

Released in April 2014 through the independent label Anomia, Hacia El Sol, illustrated by the hypnotic cover of prestigious artist Santiago Talavera, the album features guest appearances from El Pastuso, lead singer of Pendejo, and Manuel Cabezalí, from the renowned spanish band Havalina.
Mondosonoro magazine offered an exclusive pre-release stream on their site and later gave the band a special mention in their best metal albums of 2014. The album was also chosen as one of the best records of the year by multiple Spanish music sites as Subnoise, Hereunidoalabanda, Distrito Uve, RedHardNHeavy or LaHabitación235.

2015 - France Tour and Recognition

On the final leg of the 2015 Hacia el Sol live schedule the band toured France with the band Soundcrawler. 2016 continued with another spanish tour from April to June, being praised by members of Hawkwind for their part on the Lemmy Kilmister tribute concert in Madrid, where they paid homage to the space rock era on the british rocker's career.

New lineup

Summer 2016 marks a new and exciting starting point, with the arrival of all-new powerful version of the band.
The latest international lineup is a solid four piece consisting of Juanjo on guitar and vocals, bassist Clément Reviriego (ORS), guitarist Paul Parsat (ex-Soundcrawler) and David Carbonnel (Met H Ode) on drums. This powerful and exciting new version of Craneón made an unforgettable debut opening for stoner rock legends Fu Manchu on their sold-out show in Madrid, October 2016.

2017 - The Wolf Abbey Sessions and more ...

A few months after a new tour across France on december 2016, the band filmed and recorded The Wolf Abbey Sessions, a live in-studio performance of songs from their debut album, to be released both as a video on their youtube channel and as live EP on bandcamp. Shortly after that, the band recorded their own take on Radiohead's Climbing Up The Walls for the Ok Computer Revisited tribute compilation, which was premiered on Radio 3's 180 Grados.

Craneón just came back from a spanish tour with Pendejo where they premiered some of the songs from their next album.

Inicios

CRANEÓN es una banda de rock madrileña formada por Juanjo de Latorre (guitarra y voz) en 2006 con una propuesta repleta de riff gruesos y arenosos, atmósferas densas, groove y una mixtura única de voces tan rabiosas como melancólicas. Tras diversos cambios de formación, registrar varias demos y realizar giras por toda la península, en el año 2012 edita su primer EP oficial denominado “Avanza” y logra comenzar a posicionarse como una gran promesa compartiendo escenario con bandas de diversas latitudes como Karma To Burn (USA), Pendejo (Holanda), Deville (Suecia), Taura (Argentina) o Been Obscene (Austria).

2013 - Grabación Primer LP

Ingresan a los estudios Canladiva (Madrid) para grabar su primer LP “Hacia El Sol” producido por Christophe R. Moure, Manuel Cabezalí (Havalina) junto a la banda que se completa con José Luis Serzo (batería) y Javier Schoendorff (ex Miguel Ríos) en bajo.

2014 - Edición “Hacia El Sol”

El disco se edita en abril de 2014, con un evocador diseño de arte a cargo del reconocido artista Santiago Talavera a través de Anomia Records y cuenta con las colaboraciones increíbles de Manuel Cabezalí y El Pastuso (Pendejo).
La revista Mondo Sonoro preestrenó de manera exclusiva el álbum en su web una semana antes del lanzamiento y le otorgó una mención especial en los mejores discos de metal del 2014. Webs como Subnoise, Hereunidoalabanda, Distrito Uve, RedHardNHeavy o LaHabitación235 lo incluyeron en sus listas de los mejores álbumes del año.

2015 - Gira y Reconocimiento

Craneón cerraron el 2015 con una gira por Francia junto a Soundcrawler. El 2016 continuó con una gira estatal de abril a junio, incluyendo un concierto tributo a la figura de Lemmy Kilmister, por cuya interpretación de piezas de Hawkwind, reciben elogios de la propia banda inglesa.

Nueva Formación

El verano de 2016 marca el comienzo de una emocionante etapa, con una nueva y poderosa formación internacional en cuarteto, en la que a Juanjo se le unen los franceses Clément Reviriego (ORS) como bajista y Paul Parsat (ex-Soundcrawler) como 2º guitarrista, junto al británico David Carbonnel en la batería. Su inolvidable debut tuvo lugar en octubre como teloneros de los legendarios Fu Manchu (USA) a su paso por Madrid, con todas las entradas agotadas, cosechando una gran acogida por parte de público.

2017 - The Wolf Abbey Sessions y más ...

Unos meses después de una nueva gira por Francia en diciembre del 2016, la banda registra "The Wolf Abbey Sessions", un directo en estudio interpretando 5 temas de su album debut, que será lanzado tanto en formato video en su canal de youtube como en forma de EP a través de bandcamp. Poco después la banda graba -también en su propio Wolf Abbey Studio (La Dordoña, Francia)- su versión de "Climbing Up The Walls" para el álbum tributo a Radiohead "Ok Computer Revisited", y fue estrenado en el programa 180 Grados de Radio 3.

Craneón acaba de regresar de una gira por la península ibérica abriendo para Pendejo, donde adelantaron material del que será su segundo larga duración.
