Corey Fox-Fardell Short Info

Corey started learning the guitar at the age of 9 and started writing his own songs at the age of 14. Since then Corey studied music for two years at The Brit School, winning the Sony ATV songwriting competition for You Cannot Say.

Since leaving The Brit School in 2013, Corey has been gigging in and around the South East. Venues include – Barfly – Camden, The Bedford – Balham, The Grey Lady – Tunbridge Wells, The Slaughtered Lamb – Clerkenwell, The Borderline and Soho Flea Market – City Showcase, Cornbury Festival 2013, Caffè Nero tour 2013, Barn on the Farm Festival 2014. Corporate event for Coutts & Co (HASH7 – Al Douglas) 2014.

A songwriting trip to Nashville in 2013, introduced Corey to co-writing which is something he’d love to pursue in the future.

Record of the Week twice on BBC Introducing, further support has come from Radio 1 mainstay Huw Stephens and 6 Music’s Tom Robinson to name but a few. Meanwhile, another of Corey’s efforts, She’s Electric has been making further waves, with its heartfelt lyrics of loss and curveball take on balladry.

Influences include Ben Howard, Jose Gonzalez, James Blake, Bon Iver, Pat Metheny and John Martyn to name a few.
