His music is deeply rooted in West African traditions while drawing inspiration from soul, reggae, afropop, afro-rock, funk, and salsa, creating a dynamic and universal sound.
Backed by his international band, The Conquerors—featuring musicians from Senegal and Italy with backgrounds alongside Omar Péne, Youssou N’Dour, Maria Siga, Souleymane Faye, and Carlou D—Alassane brings a powerful, borderless energy to the stage. He has performed at renowned International Line-ups & Showcase Festivals, including Dakar Music Expo, Stereoafrica, Afrobrix, Electropark, Sofar Sounds, and has successfully toured Italy three times (Winter ‘21, Summer ‘22, 2024), where his project has found a second home.
A Creative Director of major live concerts in Senegal, such as Thiakaay, Alassane prioritizes Wolof songwriting and the decolonization of African storytelling, offering a fresh and realistic perspective on Senegalese culture. Sufism and Pan-Africanism are key influences in his artistry, drawing inspiration from legends like Aminata Fall, Youssou N’Dour, Baaba Maal, and Fela Kuti.
His vocal versatility is another defining feature—shaped by his involvement in the Opera Choral of the Italian Embassy in Dakar, under vocal coach Hadar Halevy De Vito. His performances range from delicate falsettos to deep, resonant baritone tones, creating an emotionally gripping live experience.
