Alan Reeves Short Info

Composer and Hammond B3 organ virtuoso Alan Reeves, son of a South East London jazz pianist and a London-Irish mother, recalls the trials and tribulations of a life on the road, from Swinging `60s London club scene, to Hamburg`s redlight St. Paulli`s famous Star Club playing all night opposite The Beatles to elegant, decadent private parties for Parisian socialites, to celebrity gigs in Monte Carlo to mafia-controlled Tokyo clubs.

He finds romance and success in the Gallic capital composing and producing everything from TV jingles to film scores.

Reeves studies with Nadia Boulanger, whose pupils include Quincey Jones and Igor Stravinsky and moves to Los Angeles in 1980 where he pioneers the "Synthesizer" revolution in composing for TV ads, and enjoys a hedonistic Californian booze-fueled Hollywood poolside lifestyle.

Major Hollywood directors come knocking on his door to compose feature film scores: from "To Walk with Lions" (with Richard Harris), "Dr. Bethune" (with Donald Sutherland and Helen Mirren), to "Rainbow" (with Bob Hoskins and Dan Ackroyd) and Quentin Tarantino`s "Kill Bill Vol.2" (winning a GOLD ALBUM).

Along the way to success he picks up 35 International awards for his composing and works back–to–back on film projects in United States and Canada. Then, living on an idyllic island in Tahiti, disaster strikes.

A monumental brain hemorrhage leaves him partially paralysed, unable to speak, and fighting for survival. With heroic courage, grit and determination, he slowly comes through exhausting rehabilitation, to gradually regain his speech, and rebuild his keyboard technique.

Now he`s back! He sells licenses for more than 1500 music pieces, composes for films, audiobooks and commercial spots (www.alanreevesmusic.today) and plays his brand-new music creations life on stage.
