It has been said that in New York, you're either at the top of the world or tumbling off the Brooklyn Bridge – continuously caught between the rising and the falling.

It is this life lived in midair that informs the driving melancholy of Adam Sullivan and The Trees. Soaring seamlessly between driving synth rock and indie folk, the band floats effortlessly between unabashedly cheerful and starkly honest, always wearing their hearts on their sleeves.

Following the release of his second solo album in 2010, Adam Sullivan played over 100 shows and festivals in 16 countries, often backed by fellow NYC musicians Mason Ingram, Rob Ritchie, and Zack Lober. Following the end of the tour, the band decided to go into the studio and create a new collaborative project - The Trees. Their self-titled debut album was quietly released in 2014, but due to prior individual obligations, the band was unavailable to tour in promotion.

2015 has seen quite the opposite pace, with the band performing consistently in their hometown of NYC, as well as being selected to perform as a showcase artist at the MU:CON 2015 festival in Seoul, South Korea. The band has previously showcased at other Asian festivals (Zandari Festa, Jarasum International Jazz Festival, Jeju JET Fest), as well as festivals in the USA (SXSW, CMJ). With a re-release of their debut album on the horizon, the band is looking forward to an even bigger 2016.
