Even then they were making original music and experimenting with recording and sound production despite the lack of professional music equipment. Later, Zrinko and Mario went to study music in Zagreb and Vienna, and Jasmin started to develop his woodcraft skills in family business which later resulted in making his own musical instruments that are also used in the group. In that period they played in different bands and projects. Eventually all of them ended up in their hometown and started ZMaJ.
On their debut album 'Svaki kraj novi je početak', music has a storytelling role, and tries to take the listener to the musical journey through different atmospheres and genres. The theme of the album is focused on love relationships and individuality. Band was formed as trio and musical material was firstly composed in that manner, but afterwards through musical collaborations it was expended with flute, trumpet, violin and bass clarinet. Album was recorded entirely in their home studio, mixed by Hrvoje Nikšić in Kramasonik studio in Zagreb and mastered by Dubravko Lapaine, through 2015-2016. Artwork was done by Iva Gavrilović. It was released only in digital form on Bandcamp, available for free download. Currently they are working on the expansion of the album form alongside with four young composers from Croatia (Mak Murtić, Leo Beslać, Jurica Hrenić and Antonio Ivan Šangulin). It will be premiered at MIMO festival in Museum of Contemporary Arts, Zagreb, in March 2018.
At the beginning of 2017. band held "Exhibition of Sound" in City Museum Virovitica. Part of the exhibition was exploring electronic club music which transformed the band sound. That resulted in composing a variety of musical miniatures throughout wide span of electronic music, expanding the idea of a rock trio on their personal way. Selection of that music will be released through EP's under the name 'Projekt Zwei'. The key element here is a visual projection, done by Iva Gavrilović, which is inseparably connected with the music.
