This seven-piece reggae roots band based in Hertfordshire is headed by singer and writer Wayne McArthur, ably backed by drum & bass, guitars, keyboards, percussion and vocal harmonies.

The band have toured extensively throughout the UK since the early 00’s. They’ve performed at various festivals countrywide, notably the World Together Festival in Gloucester and the Paradise Fest in Bury St. Edmunds.

The band’s genre of roots rock reggae carries a constant theme of cultural and spiritual goodwill, which has been the lynchpin of Wayne’s musical career and philosophy – as epitomised by songs such as Rainbow, Victory Dance and albums including and Dread Music Affairs and the dub-wise Love, Faith and Belief. The bands’ repertoire demonstrates the timeless nature of the material with the set incorporating new, fresh, cutting-edge original songs along with decades of passionate live show experience combined with Wayne’s production and engineering expertise.

Wayne has worked with several producers and companies including Russ Disciple of Backyard Movements and in addition to engineering and releasing original songs on his own label, Moon Wave Music, he created a big impression in the genre when Victory Dance was released through French label Reggae Remedy.

The aim of the band is to reach people of different origins. Their wide appeal is evident by the club gigs and festivals they’ve played with great flair, entertaining local and international supporters. Giving the people 100% is important to the lead man of this band, Wayne McArthur. He has never strayed from his ideals, delivering the songs that he so deeply believes in and is passionate about. His message calls for better social living globally regardless of race, class origins or gender.

The growing underground scene, fueled by the efforts of artists from all cultures, has now given us the opportunity to bring Wayne McArthur & The Universal Players to a new audience.
