The band produces a cocktail of heart pulsing guitar riffs and foot stomping drums with the passion to create an energetic atmosphere, leaving an aftertaste for more!
The front-man James Martin has a lot to show you. Taking his inspiration from guitar gurus such as; Chuck Berry, BB King, John Lee Hooker & Dan Auerback. His vocals are enriched with aspects of Soul, Jazz & Blues. James' personal sound has been described as "Gravel wrapped in velvet".
Behind the kit we have Tom Kerr. Heavily inspired by simplistic but captivating drum grooves, Tom has taken inspiration from the likes of; The Dead Weather, Queens Of The Stoneage, Benny Greb, Led Zeppelin.
Money the debut single released February 2014 has set the ball rolling for the band with recent airplay on BBC Radio Introducing Stoke and BBC Radio Two on Dermot O'learys Saturday show. High praise has also come regarding their home made stylistic music video on Youtube.
Since April Washington Reed has been hard at work on a stylistic e.p named Take Me Home, working with the same producer as Money, Mel Haigh. This e.p was captured down in an old bricked basement using simple atmospheric mixing techniques such as the Recorder-man on the drums. This creates layers and depth no other e.p has to offer. Take Me Home releases 25th August on all digital streaming and buying stores, also physical versions available on the WRecordshop with a special Extended Edition available.
WR now take a new root by adding a brand new unique sound being debuted at the newest gig dates we have. The new single 'Hustle' being recorded for a winter release is already astounding audiences & creating a buzz in the BBC introducing loins.
WR are the ones to come & watch.
