Velvet Engine, the brainchild of Latino Northamptonian San-D Godoy, emerged enthusiastically into our lives and our hearts at the start of 2008 as a solo act.

After numerous positive reviews, tours and radio airplay, she introduced occasional band members Matt Philpotts during 2011 on guitar, and guests Runa Ubillus Ayers on cello, Roz Webber on viola and Mark Hales on percussion. In 2012, they released their long-awaited debut release 'Glimpse Of The Sun', a collection of songs which have been described as "Yearning Pop Folk, with a sprightly but reflective soul". a collection of songs which have been described as "Yearning Pop Folk, with a sprightly but reflective soul".

Counting Laura Marling, Neil Young, Daughter and Fleet Foxes amongst her many influences. Now having just released her new EP 'This Old Hat', we can expect great things from this new breed of heart-warming pop folk music and Velvet Engine will be sure to drive it in the right direction with her catalogue of honest yet timid and catchy songs."
