Cramming in tremoloed guitar movements, and upping the pace by about 80bpm, Should The Light Go Out (2015) saw the Vancouver act take (at least) one step forward and a half step to the side.
The LP, produced by Darcy Hancock of Ladyhawk, and Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, New Pornographers, Dan Mangan) hints at garage rock and jangle pop at times, but even after only one listen, it’s evident that the album doesn’t dip into the cliches of either genre. While the outfit is still a relatively new entity, it has already undergone a radical process of reinvention. With its lineup now solidified, and with a new sound that opens up a world of possibilities for the future, it's clear that Twin River has arrived.
Twin River is currently back in the studio working on their sophomore effort; including a 2-song 7" to be released in March 2016, and a full-length LP in early summer 2016 via Light Organ Records.
