Having formed a style of electronic art rock that defies
categories, drawing influence from their experiences in the city; from the grimy
club scene of the 1990s, to forging pathways into alternative and progressive
rock, all set upon a backdrop of medieval architecture, Transient Sun’s music
inevitably exudes an unusual combination of these diverse elements.
Ryan Miller (Vocals/Guitar/Synths) and Greig Sivills (Drums/Percussion/Synths)
formed the band in 2014 during a chance meeting, which saw the end of a three
year silence. They had been the driving force behind one of their previous bands
Nixie Kye, supporting artists such as Ocean Size and The Boxer Rebellion,
during a musical friendship that has spanned over two decades and culminating
in a stripped-back line-up, with a return to their electronic influences.
Transient Suns released their debut EP ‘Sun One’ on the 8th of December 2016 at
Edinburgh’s The Mash House, supporting Dublin rockers We Were Giants.
Work on their follow-up EP ‘Sun Two’ is now complete and was released on
1st December 2017. ‘Sun Two’ shows a progression from their debut EP and a
marked development of their unique style.
