The Vigilantes Short Info

"They're just amazing aren't they? Street punk. I love it." Chris Berrow, BBC Introducing

Vigilantes: Fast and loud Indie pop with post-punk undertones. Interested? Vigilantes pride themselves on a tight, fast paced and audacious live presence.Their live shows have rightfully earned them support slots with bands such as: Circa Waves, The Sherlocks & The Subways, with their latest singles: "Luna" "What A Shame" and "Fairweather Friends" having received fantastic responses from BBC Introducing. Vigilantes vocal performance is a highlight. BBC Introducing claim that Vigilantes' harmonies give goosebumps, especially the bridge on latest single 'Luna'. Carrying on the torch of the British twist from music across the pond, Vigilantes deliver on their take of the New York Indie sound.

Vigilantes are predominantly influenced by The Strokes and The Beatles. The post-punk element coupled with the lyrical wit of maestros such as Morrissey and Alex Turner, Vigilantes discuss subjects that are not of the normal "boy meets girl love song". Vigilantes aim to dig deeper into the listener and the existential longing of friendship and fly on the wall relationships.

Their latest EP 'Liberosis' (Named after the emotion of wanting to let go) was written over a dark, winter period in a barn (or shack) in the English countryside. The band wrote the music, but lyrically were stumped. After writer's block for 6 months, inspiration came and the lyrics were written for the EP in a couple of late evenings/early mornings. Once the songs were written they were taken to another barn in the English countryside and recorded over a weekend.

Following the release of 'Liberosis EP', Vigilantes are endlessly touring and recording to maintain the momentum of demand. With many support slots, festival appearances and a hectic touring schedule ahead, Vigilantes are full steam ahead with more new music on the horizon. A band with nothing to lose, and as they say "I'll try anything once."

"I love it. I love them so much. They take me back to my youth; they sound like Manic Street Preachers in their heyday, from when Richie was with them" - Dean Jackson, BBC Introducing
