Comprised of twin sisters Hannah and Chloe Van Thompson (guitar, vocals), Joanne Forbes (bass) and Shaun Hood (drums), 2017 was a breakout year for the band.

Premiere’s on the likes of Huw Stephens’ BBC Radio Introducing show, So Young, Dork, Upset, Noisey, The Quietus, The Line of Best Fit and Clash Magazine were all followed by support slots with Wolf Alice, Clean Cut Kid and a succession of dates with Sunflower Bean and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
The band had prominent placing across numerous festivals and showcases throughout the UK and featured heavily on the BBC coverage of Scotland’s newest and largest festival ‘TRNSMT’.
Following up from 2016's critically acclaimed 'A Coming of Age' EP the band released 'Fresh Meat' and BitterSweet' through Lab Records which had huge Spotify traction culminating in both tracks riding high in the viral charts.
The Van T’s hard work did not go unnoticed and they scooped the coveted ‘Best Live Act’ award at the 2017 Scottish Alternative Music Awards.
The band have went on to play a number of prominent festivals in 2018 including; Live at leeds, Hit the north festival, Belladrum festival, Edinburgh international festival, Last train home festival, tenement trail and Community festival in London with band such as The Vaccines, Sundara Karma, Two door cinema club, Pale Waves and Big Sounds. The band has also played the infamous AGM stadium this year playing alongside bands such as Maximo park, Twin Atlantic and The Big Moon.
The band has successfully toured around the UK throughout 2018 and were chosen by Festival republic for their 'Rebalance project' - aiming to have a 50/50 gender split on festival bills by 2020.
After releasing their newest single "Suis-je cool?" which Clash Magazine wrote "a reminder that The Van T’s are back", the band are looking forward to releasing new music and continuing touring through to 2019.
