Not so for The Swiines for in each case, just like their last tour dates as support to Jake Bugg, they have played at the direct request of the bands they supported. The Rifles first spotted the band on a rough home video on YouTube, messaged The Swiines, and invited them onto their full UK tour.
Presently writing towards their debut album, the band now look forward to their summer tour which will be announced in the near future
Jake Bugg commented on The Swiines songs (just before the joined him on the Scottish leg of his tour) "- 'Back of ya mind' is a banger! Scotland will love 'em!"
With support already coming from other quarters such as BBC 6 Music, and with Click Music predicting a rise similar to that of Arctic Monkeys, the future looks very promising from this Nottingham bunch and their bombastic, swagger laden rock.
Scott is pragmatic about the plaudits, "People saying nice things about us is fantastic but it's all about the songs and performance for us. Making sure that we can walk away and think 'job done'. The songs are where it has to begin and why some bands don't stay around. We want to write the tunes that will be around long after us. If we can't do that, then we'll have failed. We're not going to let that happen."
Bio
Formed in 2009 this rock foursome consists of
Scott Bugg - vocals & guitar
Adi Young – lead guitar
Rory Black – bass
Daniel Taylor – drums
Their sound is more fully charged than the typical indie band – expect a real rock & roll experience with lyrically-charged Brit-rock melodies and explosive choruses.
Influences new and old could include The Beatles, to The Stone Roses, Kasabian to Oasis and the Arctic Monkeys.
However their sound is very much their own and they captivate their audience at every live gig from the very start of the opening song, such is their presence.
