I'm Sam,
I write weird and wonderful songs about everything, now backed by
my band 'The Society of Strange Living'. We use strange and unusual
instruments including our unique recycled:
'Washing Machine Drum Kit'.
We are made for the festival, suiting any stage from a giant pyramid to
solar powered yurt. We write songs about everything from Toast, to
Bicycles, to Washing Machines. We know you'll love it!
A bit of background: I've been writing and gigging since I was a kid, and
I've been professional for a few years now. I've played the 2012 Olympics,
Glastonbury Festival (naked), the Edinburgh Fringe, Maui Waui, Alchemy,
Mudfest, Grimsthorpe, Spirit of the Marsh, Belper Goes Green and a bunch of
other festivals. I've played over 1000 shows, and I've independently published three
successful records gaining a worldwide fanbase without the support of a
major label.
The Society are a tight knit, friendly, crowd pleasing music machine, and
we want to spend our summer in wellies doing what we do best. Give us a
shot and you'll be very pleased with the results!
cheers,
Sam :-)
