The Samuel Rogers Band Short Info

After a few years gigging in-and-around Birmingham at gig events and local festivals as a solo acoustic artist from the age of sixteen, Samuel Rogers then managed to ensemble his own band together in mid 2013.
2014 was a progressive first year for The Samuel Rogers Band (known as The S.R.B); starting the year by releasing their debut EP 'Turn It Up!!!' in January (the title track was played on BBC WM Introducing). Then gigging at venues and local festivals in Birmingham, developing their ever expanding and faithful fan base (known as 'The S.R.B Army') and branched out of their hometown to do gigs in London and Liverpool to name a few places, as well as supporting Stone Foundation and The Moons within the year.
In 2015, The S.R.B released their second EP 'It's On!!!' in August and have put the graft in; gigging regularly in Birmingham at gigs and charity events, as well as supporting Stone Foundation and The Moons (again) at their Birmingham gigs and gigged at the iconic 100 Club in London supporting The Spitfires.
Songwriter/Vocalist/Guitarist Samuel Rogers' band's line up now consists of Chris Moulton on Bass and Leon Harrison James (son of Ocean Colour Scene drummer Oscar Harrison) following in his father's footsteps on Drums and backing vocals.
Samuel has a wide range of musical influences (Gorillaz, Oasis, Paul Weller, Plan B, Jimi Hendrix, Ian Brown to name a few) as he likes to be forward-thinking with his experimentation of songwriting and doesn't like the idea of being pigeon-holed into a certain musical category. Though, unmistakably, you will hear his beloved Weller/Gallagher/Albarn influences in his material.
Bassist Chris's main influences consist the likes of JJ Burnel of The Stranglers, Charles Mingus, British Jazz Funk, 70's Disco, 60's Soul, Acid Jazz and Blue-Note Groove.
Drummer Leon's main influences consist the likes of Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, The Beat, The Who, The Small Faces, Ray Charles, The Stone Roses and (of course) Ocean Colour Scene to name a few.

In December 2015, their brand new unreleased track 'Liven Up' has been played on BBC WM Introducing and the band are due to release it as a Single within the new year.
Wthe new bookings for them to play at the Isle of Wight & Brighton 'March of the Mods' events, as well as gigs up and down the country in 2016, The word is starting to get around about The S.R.B, and it looks to be an exciting year for Birmingham three-piece.
