The Protoneers originally formed in 2009 starting out by covering artists including The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream/Eric Clapton, The Who, Led Zeppelin rehearsing as a 3 piece band and writing the bands first original material, is guitar driven and based around Alternative/Progressive Rock.
“Six67 Extended Play” released as a digital download and limited CD. During 2012 the band performed around the UK at venues including O2 Islington Academy 2, The Maze Nottingham, Red Room Lincoln, The Musician Leicester and the also performed at both the Regional and Area Finals of UK Live & Unsigned. A brand new single “Times They Roll” was released for digital download on 18th September, available to buy from iTunes. This was followed in March of this year by the release of an Official Video for the single, produced in partnership with Video Producer and Director ‘Benjamin Parry’
In July of 2013 the bands “Seduction Woman – The EP” was released, having been engineered and produced at Superfly Studios by Andy Banfield during May, and the songs being gigged extensively throughout the year. The year also saw the band perform to a sold out Brixton Jamm in London supporting Kaiser Chiefs at the aftershow event of their UK Tour (Video at: http://youtu.be/6TGRUGdQa-w)
Having returned to writing more new material in 2014, and returning to Superfly Studios working with Producer/Engineer ‘Andrew Banfield’ for a second time in May of this year. The Protoneers have released their New Single “Loosen Up”
