Their sound is an ode to the classic, late-60’s sunshine psych with a twist of lysergic folk and indie-rock thrown in for good measure. Consisting of drums, bass, guitar and bouzouki, their sound incorporates folkloric melodies with a stomping beat fresh from the seedy underbelly of Manchester’s counter culture.
Currently in studio working on their EP, they have released a taster entitled ‘Help Me Please’. This is a fine example of their blend of classic-meets-modern, featuring soaring, tube-driven guitars amidst an energetic bed of in-the-pocket drum grooves and bass.
Together since late 2014, The Peace Pipers started out by practicing live on stage, jamming late-60’s anthems and improvising psychedelic epics. They recorded two demos in the drummer’s bedroom, which proved popular enough to be featured multiple times on local radio. Since then the band has played a variety of venues culminating in their first festival appearance in September 2015.
From that moment on it’s been nothing but long hair, flares and playing guitar solos with their teeth. It’s bound to be a long, strange trip so keep your third eye open and focused on The Peace Pipers as they continue to traverse the line between reality and insanity.
