Uniting inspirations from the likes of NOFX, Reel Big Fish, Capdown, Lightyear, and King Prawn, the band has gone from strength to creative strength in individual sound, virile song writing, and putting on a kick ass live show.

Debut album Always Looking Forward delivered The Hostiles’ formidable live reputation on record, providing the ideal bedrock to build the band’s career upon. The album’s zest and positivity was met with immediate reciprocation, Big Cheese declaring the record ‘infectious and overflowing with energy’. Released on Cardiff-based Go Steady Records, the album was a springboard for The Hostiles to penetrate deep into the UK ska-punk scene, with a release night show in Glasgow supporting Catch 22 just the beginning. Gigs followed with the likes of Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Zebrahead, Mad Caddies, Strike Anywhere, and many more, allowing The Hostiles to hone their live show and to become formidable headliners in their own right.

After an album, EPs, tracks on compilations in Japan, USA, and UK, and support slots, festival appearances and even a four-week European tour, The Hostiles went back into the studio to record their second album. In the summer of 2016 Last Call emerged. Eclipsing all before it, the album’s raw infectious energy and new blaze of hooks and hungry rhythms breaches a new plateau in The Hostiles’ sound. Its inescapably catchy lead single/video To Err Is Human is a major attention grabber with eager acclaim from both fans and media alike.

The Hostiles are truly looking at exciting times ahead. It is a new chapter in their rise which is being driven by a new line-up with original members Josh and trombonist Steve Bruce, fellow trombonist Joe Stainke, bassist/vocalist Theo Watson and drummer Hunter Mackay. Imposing on the broadest spotlights, The Hostiles still continue to leap through the ranks of cult contenders to stake their claim as heavyweight, ska-punk champions of the world.
