The Horse Heads are an Essex band playing distinctive, progressive guitar-driven music with elemental riffs that initally bring out memories of the slightly smoother ends of punk and Britpop, however a splash of Pacific surf can be discerned within their reverby style, throwing in a little California plus for good measure their music also has touches of psychedelia and American garage.

THH make this overall soundscape work well, making them a boost for any festival, concert or club working with punkish or grimy alternative genres. They’ve supported Freak and their tunes have been featured on BBC Introducing. Another feather in THH’s cap is that for two years running they’ve been nominated for Band of The Year at the PANIC Awards.

In the end, listeners can make up their own minds about this band’s music. You can call The Horse Heads punk, grunge or alternative rock – what matters is enjoying the sounds.
