The Gentle Scars sound and style is rooted in CBGBs-esque trash punk (à la New York Dolls, Johnny & The Heartbreakers and Hanoi Rocks) but also takes cues from 50s/60s garage rock and pop, and wall-of-noise psychedelia.
Or as one fan had it, "That song started like The Stooges but it ended like The Killing Joke."
