He writes about the world around him and how he perceives it. He is original in the fact that he refuses to follow mainstream advice of making love songs for the sake of making them and selling them. Instead he writes about aspects of life and the world that are important to him, "...it's not that I don't like love songs, merely that I feel there are too many of them. If you listen to a lot of main stream music, you're just bombarded by them. I think that the audiences are smarter than the music industry makes them out to be in their marketing meetings, and deserve more, and better than that."
His debut EP, THIS MACHINE [https://chrissagan.bandcamp.com/] was recorded and mixed by Cave Productions at Abbey Road Studios. The songs come from a mix of different inspirations. You'll no doubt here a little bit of Mumford & Sons, Bruce Springsteen and some Led Zeppelin in there too. It was Jeff Buckley that inspired Sagan to become a songwriter as opposed to a musician. Sagan was in a few cover bands prior to going solo but was always more interested in writing original material.
