Formed out of friendship and a love to make music. They have just recorded their first EP with Peter Myles at Middle Farm Studios in Devon.
About
Hailing from the North West town of Preston, The Capital emerged from Failsafe following the tragic loss of guitarist / vocalist Matthew Cogley in early 2015. Remaining members Andy, Rob & Si re-visited the Failsafe rehearsal space last Summer with no real agenda in mind but quickly began creating new music which both embraced the band's past and also looked towards the future. Joined by re-nowned singer songwriter Seamus McLoughlin to head up lead vocals and Nik Taylor (previously of Next Stop Atlanta) on guitar the band have started to create their own identity with a brand of visceral / melodic rock reminiscent of Pearl Jam and Hot Water Music.
Recently the band travelled to Devon and recorded a number of songs with Pete Miles (Failsafe producer) over the course of two days in a live studio set up.
Their debut online outing 'Hummingbird' an emotional and honest tribute to Matthew prompted a half hour feature on BBC Introducing (Radio Lancashire). The accompanying video receiving over 5,000 views so far.
The full EP, featuring 5 original tracks, is available now.
